Sous Chef
Job Type : Permanent, Full Time
Salary : £29000 – £32000/annum Plus Service Charge
Sous Chef position available in a luxury hotel near Truro.
You will be working with an experienced and talented brigade, serving all local Cornish produce.
The successful candidate will have a proven background of working in busy kitchens, and be able to support the talented Head Chef.
Responsibilities:
* Help manage and supervise kitchen staff, including training and scheduling
* Oversee food production and ensure adherence to quality standards and food safety regulations
* Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed
* Maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment
* Ensure compliance with health and safety guidelines
* Handle customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints in a professional manner
* Assist with menu planning and cost control initiatives
Qualifications:
* Previous experience in a supervisory role within the restaurant industry
* Strong knowledge of kitchen operations, food production, and food safety protocols
* Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team
* Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make quick decisions under pressure
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Straight shifts only.
Salaried or hourly paid.
