My client, near Liskeard, are seeking a skilled Event Sous Chef to join their small team at a renowned remote wedding location. As Event Sous Chef, you will play a pivotal role in delivering exceptional culinary experiences for weddings and events in our picturesque setting.
This is a full-time permanent position, offering approximately 48 hours per week during their busy season (maybe less during winter months)
Flexibility to work closely with the Head Chef, covering days off on a rotational basis, with only two chefs in rotation at any given time. Cooking breakfast & dinner for the estate residents as well as the wedding day catering.
Salary on offer £34,000 per annum – approx. £13.70 per hour

Responsibilities:
– Collaborate closely with the Head Chef to plan and execute menus tailored to each event, ensuring high standards of quality and presentation.
– Take charge of kitchen operations during events, overseeing food preparation, cooking, and plating to meet the demands of varying guest numbers and dietary requirements.
– Maintain strict adherence to health and safety regulations, ensuring a clean and organised workspace at all times.
– Assist the Head Chef in inventory management, ordering supplies, and controlling costs to meet budgetary requirements.
– Step up to cover for the Head Chef during their days off, ensuring seamless continuity in kitchen operations.
Requirements:
– Minimum of 3 years of experience in a professional kitchen environment, with a focus on event catering and high-volume production.
– Proficiency in a wide range of culinary techniques and cuisines, with a keen eye for detail and creativity in menu development.
– Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively under pressure and lead a team to success.
– A valid driver's license and willingness to commute to a remote location
