Sales were difficult, are difficult, is likely to become more difficult? Whichever way you spin it, few sales professionals aspire to swim about in freezing, shark-infested waters for any length of time.
You people are some of the most tenacious, disciplined, relentless and resilient people I know. I get that nobody is looking for a medal, you just seem to want the same thing and rightly so – to reap the fruits of your labour (because let’s be honest, the ‘baptism by fire’ was never meant to be an enduring experience).

OK well, clients become friends, products become your favourite toys, enigmatic and illusive bonus schemes become consistent flows of real money ££££. You have a healthy P60, you get promoted, you’re respected, and your voice and ideas are heard. The day to day grind becomes…..fun!
If you’re lucky, talented and willing enough to grab this opportunity with two hands, you’ll be on the track to all this good stuff.
In this role you will be a critical member of the company, with responsibility for growing a specific division, focussed around one of their most exciting technologies.
This is the Spec game, so let’s be real, you’ll need some staying power and it won’t be effortless. We all know there are long lead times with specification and nothing is nailed on, but it’s really refreshing to have a client that factors this in, and promotes relationship growth over a ‘smash and grab’ mentality.
Consultants can be a tricky bunch. They want to hear about innovative, exciting and seamless solutions….at the right price. They want the reassurance of technical credibility from their equipment providers, and like us all, they want to enjoy the company of a familiar face.
So, for this one, you’ll need to be a competent sales engineer with in depth knowledge of technologically advanced cooling solutions primarily for critical environments.
Have a good think about who you’re speaking to on a daily basis. If they work in Data Centres, building services, industrial and/or pharmaceutical markets, keep reading, you just ticked another few boxes!
What sort of people are we looking for?
You sell Dry/ Air blast and Adiabatic Coolers, CRAC units, Chillers, In-row cooling and Indirect Air Economiser solutions.
You have an established book of M&E Consultant/ Specifier contacts.
Your stomping grounds are Data Centres, building services, industrial and pharmaceutical markets
If you’re a technically credible person that has integrity, and can succinctly offer customer focussed engineering solutions, that’ll probably help too.
