Job Title: Area Sales Manager – Hand & Power Tools and Builders Hardware

Area to be covered: London & South East

Remuneration: £35,000-£40,000 basic + £50,000 OTE year One and £65,000 OTE year Two

The role of the Area Sales Manager – Hand & Power Tools and Builders Hardware will involve:

* Field sales position, selling our clients distributed range of hand tools, power tools, fixings & fastenings, ironmongery, sealants, additives and security products (extensive portfolio with more than 20,000 products

* Promoting household brands such as, Sika Everbuild, ForgeFix, Stanley Tools, Soudal, Makita Power Tools etc.

* Selling into only independent customers including; retail showrooms, builders merchants, timber merchants and DIY stores

* Responsible for circa 90 customer accounts initially (65% spending/ active)

* 80% account development, 20% new business development( recruiting an extra 10-12 customers per annum)

* Tasked with growing a relatively new area (9 months old) from £12,000 turnover per month to £50,000-£60,000 per month over the next couple of years

* Typically 6+ customer visits per day

The ideal applicant will be an Area Sales Manager – Hand & Power Tools and Builders Hardware with:

* Must have sold into similar customers; independent retail showrooms, builders merchants, timber merchants or DIY stores

* Specific knowledge of hand tools, power tools, fixings & fastenings, ironmongery, sealants, additives and security products is not essential

* Outgoing team player

* Conscientious, results driven

* Over-achiever/ commission hungry

* Autonomous and able to hit the ground running

* Dynamic / energetic approach

* Must be prepared to put in the hours
