Salary : £250 – £300/hour

This is an interim assignment for around 20 weeks for a PR and Media Specialist. Working a hybrid model – from home with some travel to Bradford to deliver media opportunities
It will be your job to engage the media on key developments in the district to prove its position as one of the leading places to live, work, invest in and visit in the UK’s post-pandemic recovery.
You will support the Head of Marketing and Communications to develop and deliver a proactive plan of media activities and output to showcase a story of ambition and opportunity to local, regional, national and trade media audiences.
The role requires high levels of organisation to coordinate and drive a plan of activity; good writing and editing skills to produce content; experience of working with the systems and software to produce and publish content on a range of channels including social media.

To be successful in this role:
You will be versatile, creative and a committed self-starter. We are looking for someone who can demonstrate a considerable working knowledge of PR and strong writing experience, with the skills to producing engaging and accessible content to deadline.
You will have good awareness of the media landscape, experience of positioning places or organisations and creating positive PR.
You will have the ability to remain focused under pressure, organise priorities and tackle complex tasks and issues, with determination, in a busy environment.
Qualifications and Experience
The following qualifications and experience are essential:
· Relevant experience in a busy news environment, working effectively both as part of a team and independently.
· An excellent understanding of PR across national, broadcast, regional and trade media, and with a proven track record of media successes.
· An excellent track record of managing trusted and influential relationships with journalists, and delivering content for them and steering coverage.
· Experience of liaising with colleagues across different teams on complex issues to identify messages and content accurately reflecting policy in a tangible way.
· Experience of working with ‘case studies’ for media activity.
· Experience of navigating sign-off processes quickly to meet tight deadlines.
