The team
We are looking for a Contracts & Rights Manager to join our Legal & Business Affairs team based in Leeds on a 12 months fixed term contract basis.
The team provides a comprehensive and first class contracts and rights management service for the Media & Entertainment division, by drafting and issuing standard form contracts for all commissioned and acquired content and capturing highly accurate and timely contractual and rights data relating to that content in ITV’s systems.
The role
The Contracts & Rights Manager has operational oversight of a team of 13 people. The role supports the Head of Contracts & Rights Management to define and implement the strategies, governance framework and data standards that support ITV’s commercial and transformation objectives alongside strong management of the team who help to deliver this.
Key responsibilities include (but not limited to):
* Be an inspirational and inclusive leader, lay the foundations for a best-in-class contracts and rights management service in a fast paced and high pressured environment
* Identify and implement continual improvement strategies; constantly and consistently look for ways to do things better, smarter and more efficiently.
* Accountable for the end-to-end contracting process, ensuring all contract and rights requests and enquiries are managed with a high quality customer service led approach, measure performance against KPIs, identify and respond quickly to any inefficiencies in the process.
* Implement effective ways of ensuring all contractual and rights data is held to an exceptionally high standard and is recorded and maintained in ITV’s contracts and rights management systems in a timely manner.
* Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the Media & Entertainment division across Commissioning, Finance, Regulatory, Scheduling, Technology and Operations and across the wider ITV Group.
* Be the point of contact for and maintain excellent relationships with all external suppliers, such as producers, including dealing with all routine queries effectively and efficiently.
* Support and deputise for the Head of Contracts & Rights Management, when required.
Skills you’ll need (minimum criteria)
* A highly organised, strong, encouraging & inclusive leader, capable of managing successfully through periods of change while ensuring your team stays motivated and engaged
* Experience in leading a high performance and resilient team
* Demonstrated ability to collaborate constructively with strong influencing skills at all levels
* Contracts and data management experience
* Detailed understanding of the use of rights in television or film content
* Sound understanding of the content commissioning and acquisition process
* Experience of using technology to deliver process improvements

* Strong decision-making abilities, adept at solving complex problems
* Experience of working in the television or industry.
* Proficient in using Google Suite e.g. Gmail, Sheets & Docs, Microsoft Office e.g. Excel and Word and workflow tools, such as Trello, Jira
* Strong ambassador for ITV, its brands and its values
