Brightwork’s client is currently recruiting a Mechanic for their Dumfries site, where you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, test and overhaul machinery, vehicles and equipment.
Purpose of Role
Responsible for repairing heavy good machinery, vehicles and attachable equipment. Servicing and repairing heavy good machinery onsite and offsite. Using computer software for technical information to diagnose machinery.
Main Responsibilities:
Service, repair, test and overhaul machinery, vehicles and attachable equipment
Using computer programs for technical information and diagnostics
Completing job cards and following record keeping procedures
Keeping work area and workshop clean to a high standard
Attend training where applicable
Skills:
Mechanical Engineering based qualifications – for example, City and Guilds Motor Vehicle Engineering, NVQ Level 1 Plant Maintenance or equivalent
A high level of technical knowledge of the repair, maintenance and diagnostics of mechanical, electrical, electronic and hydraulic systems
Full drivers licence
IT literate
Strong communication skills
