Trade Recruitment is currently looking for a Horticulture Team Leader in St James's Park, London.

Required

NVQ Horticulture Level 3 or equivalent, plus at least 5 years experience of working within the Grounds Maintenance industry. Demonstratable proficiency in organising teams to deliver works efficiently & to a high-horticultural standard with solid experience of Client relations.

Job duties

To lead the team of gardeners at St James’s Park & Green Park, ensuring the provision of an effective & high-specification service delivery. The Team Leader will be required to attend meetings & liaise with Clients directly. They will be responsible for ensuring that their teams are operating in accordance with all HR, Health & Safety & other compliance procedures & practices. The Team Leader may be required to oversee operatives of varying skill levels & experience & this must be done in a supportive & constructive manner. You will be expected to deploy the team members effectively so as to ensure maintenance is carried out efficiently & in accordance with the output specifications. High horticultural standards & practices are expected to be delivered across the whole team’s operations.

To ensure that all required documentation is filled in accurately & processed/submitted in accordance with the stipulated deadlines.

Planning and Organisation

To be efficient and organised, working to company systems, e.g. timesheets, works control tick sheets, rotas, absence request forms, etc to ensure that contractual performance obligations are met.

Company Systems

To be efficient and organised, ensuring that the Team work to company systems: e.g. job tick sheets, time sheets, weekly vehicle inspection sheets

Training

To ensure you & the Team are suitably trained/qualified for all work tasks undertaken, taking training opportunities

Cost Control

To act to help the company control costs and avoid wastage wherever possible

Care of Machinery

To understand the correct machinery items for the job and to understand the maintenance requirements of machinery

Productivity

To utilise best, most economic and effective work practices

To take responsibility as part of the team for delivering a quality service

To show initiative and make suggestions for improvements that may lead to increased productivity
