Overview

The role of an underwriter is to complete a comprehensive assessment of my clients customer applications for both new and existing customers. You would work closely with the rest of the underwriting team to provide loans to our customers in a timely manner and meeting your individual KPIs and the wider business objectives of providing suitable and affordable lending to our customers.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities

* Manually evaluate credit applications (through determining affordability, ability to repay, creditworthiness Reduce credit limit amount

* Accurately screening customers by analyse bank statements and other financial records

* Collaborate with colleagues & other departments to drive efficiency whilst we grow

* Ensure all quality and regulatory checks are carried out

* You will be required to ensure the quality of your work and ensure all regulatory requirements and lending policies are adhered to.

* Adapt effectively to regular change of policy

* Ensure policies and procedures are adhered to.

* Complete comprehensive review of customer applications, ensure all mandatory requirements are completed on every application and KYC, Credit Checks and Affordability Assessments have been completed in full.

* Review customer documentation to ensure compliance with the relevant policy.

* Managing applications to ensure they are correctly, and efficiently organised and detailed and accurate notes are kept on all dealings with customers.

* Taking telephone calls from a wide range of customers which involves dealing with sensitive, contentious and complex issues on a daily basis.

* Process amendments including changes to payment arrangements and customer circumstances ensuring accurate notes are always kept.

* Comply with all GDPR procedures
