Tailored Recruitment Consultancy are recruiting for an experienced Bakery Supervisor to join a leading Retail business in Bradford

The successful candidate will support and lead the bakery teams along side the Head Baker.

This role is for an enthusiastic individual who is passionate about their baking, maintains exceptional baking standards and consistency, and enjoys motivating and leading a GREAT team of bakers. A bakery supervisor must be able to prioritise workload, project product demand, think on their feet and make decisions, all whilst ensuring team work is optimising our two bakeries across two sites.

Known for our creams, vanilla slices, scones and loaf cakes, we are looking for someone who is confident in a bakery, weighing up, using bakery equipment including spiral and planetary mixers, depositing cake mix, topping and piping of creams.

Key Responsibilities

1. Maintain production at a high level of consistency (including presentation, quality and portion control)

2. To act as a role model leading the Team by providing clear & consistent direction and feedback

3. Identify potential improvements (products, methods, environment, H&S, etc.) whilst maintaining and promoting excellent team working across all areas of Bakeries

4. Lead the team to minimise waste by use of appropriate production methods and controls

5. Manage the department through training and developing, coaching, and providing on the job training so that we have the right people, with the right skills, in the right roles at the right times

6. Leading and being an Ambassador who demonstrates our Values and Behaviours daily

7. Lead strategy plans with accountability and communicate these with the team in a clear and exciting way

8. Build strong collaborative working relationships

9. Manage stock control, ordering and wastage

10. Take ownership of people management practises including performance and disciplinary conversations

11. Lead the team to maintain and use all equipment to food safe and in line with H&S standards

The ideal Baker is someone who:

* Previous experience working in a bakery or similar culinary setting.

* Great attention to detail

* Experience leading teams and supervisory experience within a bakery/patisserie setting

* Highly organised and motivated

* Friendly and enjoys being part of and leading a team

Most bakery shifts start at 6am, finish at 4:30pm and you will be working every other weekend. Your shifts will be contracted to the same days on a two week rotating schedule, allowing you to build strong team relationships and get to know the business partners.
