Avove is a new, independent utilities infrastructure business, formed from the utilities division of leading infrastructure services company, Amey.

We design, build and maintain the UK’s utilities infrastructure to help transform local communities for the better.

Within our design team, you’ll work with UK Water Companies and high-profile infrastructure organisations, giving you the unique opportunity to bring ground-breaking work to life. You’ll work in a growing team of over 60 water designers that is inclusive, open-minded and where your professional development can thrive.

This is a permanent full-time role and will be a hybrid working style from home and our main office in Birmingham.

Responsibilities:

* The successful candidate will be able, or developed, to:

* Produce technically sound 2D CAD related deliverables for engineering commissions

* Assist the preparation of Pre-construction Information (PCI) for your delivery colleagues

* Work collaboratively within a team environment, delivering projects on time, within budget and to the required quality

* Thrive in a fast-paced environment that brings different challenges each day

* Be aware of health, safety and welfare e.g. Construction, Design and Management (CDM) Regulations and how theses safety principles might apply when designing

* Be able to comply with technical governance procedures within Avove Water Consulting

Skills & Experience:

* Have design or operational experience in a utility industry, ideally UK potable water

* Level 2 qualification, i.e. minimum four GCSE’s at grades A* to C including mathematics, English and a recognised science subject

* A recognised CAD related qualification, e.g. Level 3 award in 2D computer aided design

* Are computer literate and thoroughly conversant with the MS Office suite

* Have good communication skills in dealing with clients and colleagues

* Employ a client focused approach to service delivery

* Have a willingness to learn
