Conrad Consulting are delighted to be working with a national housebuilder, seeking to appoint an Architectural Design Technician to their growing team in Solihull, West Midlands.
The company, based just outside of Solihull in the heart of the West Midlands, is seeking a talented Architectural Design Technician to join their expanding team. With a rich history spanning close to 60 years, the company take pride in delivering exceptional homes that their customers love to live in. The company delivered well over 1,000 new homes in the last 12 months alone and targeting more still than that in 2024. As an Architectural Design Technician you will be working on one off bespoke homes, multi unit developments and multi-storey apartments/flats across the UK.
As an Architectural Design Technician, you will play a pivotal role in the creation and development of stunning new residential developments. From initial concept through to technical drawings, you will be involved in all stages of the design process, ensuring homes are not only aesthetically pleasing but also practical and functional.
What will you do as an Architectural Design Technician?
Offer architectural assistance and technical guidance to regional teams.
Create detailed working drawings and supplementary information, including custom units.
Record, address, and monitor site concerns from production management to facilitate ongoing product development.
Design with economic considerations in mind and understand the commercial implications of design decisions.
Ensure all designs comply with Building Regulations and local Planning Authority requirements, while also considering CDM implications.
Coordinate and oversee the distribution of technical documents.
Commission, coordinate, and review designs from various specialist suppliers, incorporating their requirements into the working drawing packages.
Implement innovative design ideas and methods that enhances the companies reputation and product.
Establish and uphold high quality standards in projects to maintain the company's positive image.
Manage the flow of information, such as drawings and design plans, to the in-house technical team in a timely manner for construction. Experience and Qualifications required of the Architectural Design Technician:
A degree in Architectural Technology or HND/HNC in related field
Experience of working in the housebuilding sector, ideally in volume residential design.
Excellent knowledge of UK Building Regulations
Competent user of AutoCAD & Revit software
At least 5 years of industry experience, ideally within a housebuilder or Residential focused Architectural practice.What's in it for you?
