Senior Quantity Surveyor

Role Overview:
The role reports to a visiting Commercial Manager or Managing QS, but you will have responsibility for the day to day commercial activities on a single large project or a number of smaller schemes. The role is also supported by Administrative staff.
The role will include regular weekly reviews of cost and value with monthly financial analysis and forecast meetings with the Management team. Whilst the positions will be site based or from a suitable Regional Office, the sites will extend across the Midlands.
Key Responsibilities:
• Managing Value and Margin
• Managing change and notifications, including contractual communications within agreed timescales
• Cost monitoring and planning
• Valuation submission and cash management
• Sub contract management and procurement
• Management of the production of contracts/subcontracts etc
• Working closely with the Project Manager on all commercial and contractual
issues
• Reporting to the Commercial Manager and/or Managing Quantity Surveyor
• Managing contractual issues on project
• Management of the risk process
• Preparation of target costs and budget estimates
• Liaison with the Client and his Representatives
• Financial reporting, including internal CVR reports, audits and forecasts and external reporting/audits
• Any other reasonable quantity surveying related task as directed by line manager or referred to in QS Procedures Manual.
Experience and Qualifications:
The position offers candidates with demonstrable commercial experience and who are currently operating as a quantity surveyor within construction / civils engineering the opportunity to join a growing management team, whilst also playing a key role in the development of the regional business.
The successful candidate will possess excellent communication skills along with a pro-active approach to achieving pre-determined deadlines for monthly reporting on all of the commercial aspects associated with the project.
