Business Development Manager
The applications for the products this business supplies are practically endless, genuinely interesting, and in huge demand.
That’s why we’re looking for curious minds to join their expanding team to ask the right questions, spot the right opportunities, and provide technical support to existing and prospective customers.
About the role
As a Business Development Manager, you’ll spend approximately two-thirds of your time proactively identifying and developing new business opportunities within your assigned market segments. The other third will be spent managing existing accounts in the same segments.
High demand for the solutions you’re selling does mean the number of inbound leads is high, and naturally, you’ll pick up those that fall into your segments. That said, you will be expected to generate your own business with the support of successful case studies and resources.
Other responsibilities will include:
* Collaborating with technical, regulatory, and marketing colleagues to support clients/prospects with the launch of new products.
* Supporting existing/prospective clients with technical queries.
* Conducting competitor and industry analysis as required.
* Managing existing accounts closely and with regular contact.
* Working with clients to grow their use of your products.
* Supporting distributors with sales projects.
* Producing sales forecasts.
* Supporting colleagues as required.
About you
You’ll have experience in a technical sales/business development role or a client-facing technical support role. If you hold a degree (or equivalent) in a scientific subject relevant to materials, polymers, coatings, chemistry, biology, or microbiology this would be very advantageous but not essential.
To be successful as a BDM, you’ll be self-motivated, highly organised, driven, confident and, above all, curious enough to explore innovations and overcome technical problems as they come your way.
Fluency in other languages would also be advantageous but is not essential to the role.
You wil also need a full UK Driving License and valid passport for international travel.
What’s in it for you
In return for your hard work, you’ll receive:
* A salary of up to £40,000 (DOE).
* Annual bonus based on achieving targets
* Generous holiday entitlement of 28 days, your birthday off, and a company-wide Christmas closure.
* Company pension matched up to 5%.
* Optional private healthcare after year one.
* Hybrid working with the option to work 1-2 days a week from home.
* Career development opportunities.
* And more.
About the business
This fabulous business operates globally from its head office in Stafford and, in the last two decades, has been recognised repeatedly with awards including high profile wins for enterprise, impressive international trade, and innovation.
With long-held philosophies and a focus on providing exceptional value to their clients, driving innovation, and creating bespoke solutions, they would be a fantastic business for any sales or technical professional to represent.
