The Role
Newly available opportunity to join a technology driven business leading an engineering team in a Technical Leading role as Principal Engineer (Voice & IMS).
Job Description
*
Responsible for all technology, infrastructure and functions underpinning the IMS voice services, focusing principally on fixed voice, but also supporting IMS based mobile services.
*
The scope of functions under direct responsibility are defined hereunder, but NOT in any way limited to:
*
IMS Core: SBG, BGF, MTAS, P/I/E/S-CSCF, MRF, DRA, ENUM, HSS, SCC, UPG, …
*
IMS-based PSTN Emulation services: A-MGW, AGCF, VoBB, and ATA / IAD.
*
Enhanced fixed voice services: IP-CENTREX and Hosted-PBX (Broadworks AS, XSP, Profile, Media, …), SIP endpoints, other third-party application servers.
*
Enterprise edge: eSBC, vSBC, ISDN (BRI / PRI) gateways, SIP trunks, …
*
Fixed Mobile Convergence.
*
Value-add systems: Voicemail, …
*
Auxiliary systems: licensing, …
*
International and local connectivity, including signaling, carrier circuits, IPX, …
Key Technical Skills/Requirements
*
JCNIE or CCIE qualified. Equivalency will be considered.
*
Demonstrable experience as a Leading or Principle Engineer working in a communication service provider environment, either directly or indirectly.
*
Strong understanding of telecommunication and IP protocols (SIP-T/I, RSTP, SS7, SIGTRAN, IPSEC, …).
*
Solid understanding of PSTN and PLMN concepts, together with a working understanding of modern telecommunications infrastructure.
*
Experience with Ericsson IMS infrastructure is definitely preferred. Experience with Broadworks AS would be advantageous..
Key Non-Technical Skills/Requirements
*
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to liaise with both technical and non-technical staff.
*
Experience leading highly-skilled technical engineering teams in a comparable communications environment.
We are ideally seeking an individual to be based in Gibraltar, but will consider those prepared for hybrid/remote or who would consider relocation in the long term.
