ROLE
Undertaking various design projects in support of the manufacturing department.
To deliver process improvements through innovative jigs and fixtures design to reduce production wastes and improve process efficiencies.
Design and development of jigs and fixtures.
Support the delivery of projects in a complex environment within an NPI (new product introduction) environment, working closely with product and manufacturing engineering to deliver products to manufacture.
Undertake design using CAD, Solidworks and its complimentary software packages to predict performance.
Bill of Materials
Liaises with other company employees regularly to update design status.
Raise CAPEX or requisitions to purchase designs from external providers.
PERSON
Ideally previous experience in the development and manufacturing of products for the industrial, life science, military and aerospace markets.
Able to translate engineering ideas into mechanical solutions and implement best practice solutions.
Strong understanding and use of Solidworks.
Produce technical working drawings.
Skilled in understand geometric tolerances.
Good IT skills.
DFMEA, PFMEA, PDCA and RCA associated to design.
Manufacturing CAD/Solid works Experience, HND level or similar.
Many years’ experience in a Mechanical Engineering role.
Experience in manufacturing environment essential.
