Project Engineer
Job Type : Permanent, Full Time
Salary : £28000 – £39000/annum
PROJECTS ENGINEER – MANUFACTURING
LOCATION: DEVON
* Drive project delivery to meet the defined financial requirements of an initial project line ready for introduction into the Volume Value Stream lines.
* Develop and maintain accurate NPI production delivery plans identifying resources required e.g. space, operators and equipment.
* Supports continuous improvement by identifying areas of deficiency in projects, recommending appropriate changes.
* Support and drive the introduction of new products and new technologies into the Value Stream.
* Instill the voice of manufacturing and the customer throughout each NPI project.
* Works closely with the Engineering, Production Planner and Materials Issuer to ensure materials, build instructions, resource and equipment are available, on-time, for production.
* Monitors, reviews and improves project lead times.
* Support the accurate costing of New Products through communications with engineering and business units.
* Ensuring products are designed and manufactured to the highest level of quality, in a safe and timely manner that will meet or exceed customer expectations.
* Interact with engineering and operations to support fast problem-solving and forward planning for production requirements.
* Builds strong alliances across all functions and liaison with Quality, Commercial, Engineering and Supply Chain to meet the customer and project needs.
* Monitors, reviews, and improves manufacturing and quality related activities and drives corrective and preventative actions.
* Performs all job duties within ISO and AS standards, regulatory or statutory requirements.
* Works closely with the Production supervision to ensure all operators are working on the correct products and projects.
EXPERIENCE
* Project management techniques
* A few years’ experience in project coordination/management in a technical engineering environment
* Exposure to a LEAN manufacturing environment
* Good commercial and finance awareness
* Excellent communication skills.
* The ability to prioritise and meet conflicting demands.
* Use of MRP Systems
* Understanding of manufacturing metrics
* Customer facing experience
