The Job
We are looking for a permanent Golf Club head chef with immediate effect.
The candidate will be self motivated and will have a good understanding of all menu planning and pricing, food ordering and stock control and compliance with all health and safety/ food preparation and labelling requirements. Preferably we would need someone from Tuesday or Wednesday through to Sunday each week as the golf course is busy in non-office hours.
The hours would average 40 per week but would be seasonal with longer daylight hours in summer than winter. Currently this position would be working alone unless or until more staff prove necessary. There are bar staff to assist in ancillary functions. The quality of food must be good with a range from full English Breakfast to various sandwich and lunches to afternoon tea and three course meals for Match days or societies . the head chef might alco have to prepare menus for Gala diners
The head chef will be passionate about his profession , have strong flair for good wholesome food without going into fine dining . a strong understanding of Golf club members requirement is essential
The ideal candidate will have a good financial acumen and a good understanding of food cost and gross profit
Strong knowledge of HACCP is also a must
The club house restaurant has 54 indoor seats and about 30 external seats in summer plus bar tables.
The golf club is offering £35k per annum with extra incentives after qualifying and probation period
