We are seeking an experienced finance manager to join one of our most innovate Clients.  This position will focus on preperation, development and analysis of financial information to ensure that the executive team makes well-informed decisions to deliver its business plan in a stable and sustainable way

Note, this position will offer flexibility to work from home 4 days per week with a min of 1 days per week in office.  

You will need immediate availability (as soon as Monday) and be available to interview over the next couple of days

Finance Manager – Contract until late January 2025 – salary up to £40,000 pa plus benefits, North London.  Basic salary is dependent on experience. 

Who will you be working for?
Our client is an established and successful but small media business located in North London.

What will you be doing?
As Finance Manager you will be responsible for financial policies and management information system. You will manage the finance team and ensure that records and processes are accurate and up to date, invoice promptly,  cash is collected quickly, oversight of costs and expenses, cashflow management and management accounting. You will also lead the budget and audit process.

Key Responsibilities

To produce management and statutory reports including VAT, profit and loss accounts, balance sheet reconciliations, budgets, cash flows, variance analysis and commentaries.
To keep the executive team advised of our progress towards our business plan goals. To be tenacious in helping the executive team make good financial decisions and that spending is in line with the budget.
To maintain our accounting system, ensuring information is accurate and up-to-date and ensuring data is backed up and proper records are kept.
To communicate our objectives well. To keep confidential information secure. To cultivate a positive culture within the company.
Management of the audit processes and to ensure of a clean audit.
To ensure invoice promptly and accurately and that we are paid promptly.
To manage our cash flow and oversee the operation, the purchase ledger and staff expenses.
To pay suppliers in line with our policies and to oversee our banking relationships.
To develop excellent and well-motivated teams. In line with company policy to hire and retain highly-effective people, to carry out regular performance reviews, to set half yearly performance pay targets and to stretch people to be high achievers, removing underachievers.
To communicate well with our teams, customers, suppliers and stakeholders, ensuring necessary confidentiality of company information.
Reasonable after hours mingling with customers, readers and industry participants may well be expected What do you need?
