Our central finance support function is based in Hull and we currently have a vacancy for a Divisional Finance Manager within our Core finance team. Key responsibilities include: 

– Manage a team of Management Accountants, providing coaching, regular 1:1 and team meetings and conducting annual performance reviews  

– Own and manage the production of the divisional management accounts including commentary against prior forecast / budget 

– Review accounts prepared by team members to check for completeness and accuracy of postings and forecast assumptions  

– Communicate financial results and insights to Finance Business Partner  

– Responsibility for sales commissions calculations and providing data to payroll on a timely basis   

– Review balance sheet reconciliations ensuring issues and discrepancies are investigated and resolved on a timely basis 

– Contribute to the annual budgeting process 

– Support year-end activities including liaising with external auditors 

– Contribute to ongoing process improvement initiatives including the development and implementation of internal control procedures  

– Conduct ad-hoc financial analysis to support project work 

Competencies: 

– Qualified Accountant (minimum of 5 years post qualified, ACA or equivalent) 

– Willing to take accountability and ownership  

– Can set and meet deadlines while maintaining strong attention to detail and effectively managing expectations  

– Strong analytical skills 

– Strong communicator and willing to build effective relationships with people outside of finance 

– Excellent attention to detail 

– Confident, adaptable personality with a positive attitude towards change and new challenges 

– Strong excel skills and confidence with data manipulation, has previously worked with large, complex data sets
