Salary : £50000 – £60000/annum

Following significant investment and plant expansion, a globally renowned manufacturer of precision components to the Aerospace, Defence and Energy sectors has a new opportunity for a Demand & Planning Manager to join the team. Part of the senior management team, you will be responsible for managing production planning and prioritising workload in line with customer requirements. Candidates are sought with experience in a similar position from within a complex engineering environment.

Commutable from: Alfreton, Mansfield, Nottingham, Derby, Sheffield, Castle Donnington, Sutton In Ashfield, Leicester.

Salary: £ 50,000 – £ 60,000 p.a. + benefits

Suitable for: Production Planning Manager, Production Controller, Supply Chain Manager, Materials Manager, Production Manager, Materials Planning Manager, Capacity Manager.

The Role

Take ownership of the Production Schedule, working with Production and Manufacturing Engineering to ensure resources, materials and processes are available to fulfil customer demand.

Planning and prioritising operations to ensure maximum performance.

Promote and support deployment of continuous improvement and lead-time reduction activities.

Manage the retention, update and control of all departmental documentation ensuring compliance to internal and external requirements.

Work in partnership with the Operations Team and other departments to ensure objectives and goals are consistently met.

Responsible for sourcing, supply and purchasing for production operations.

Coach & develop the materials & planning team.

Ensure manpower, equipment and raw materials availability to cover production demand.

Estimating material, equipment, and labour required for production.

Work with customers to ensure the highest levels of service are achieved.

The Person

Previously worked in a fast paced and complex engineering environment (machining, forging, fabrication or similar)

Customer focussed with a drive to complete tasks and keep all stakeholders informed.

Good communicator with ability to persuade and inform colleagues both verbally and in writing.

Excellent comprehension of ERP and scheduling plan from order entry to delivery.

Excellent delegator with the ability to utilise the skills and knowledge of the team to achieve goals.

Good knowledge/experience of import/export requirements.

Resilient with the ability to cope with unplanned demands and prioritise workload in line with changing demands.

Strong team-working skills with the ability to motivate others to contribute and complete tasks on time.

Good attention to detail with a methodical approach to tasks to ensure compliance.

Ability to adhere to company policies and procedures and escalate where appropriate.
