Shift Patterns: 47.5Hrs per week, Permanent, Monday to Friday, alternate weekends.
Shift time: 08:00-17:30
Week 1 Mon, Tues, Wed, Sat, Sun.
Week 2 Mon, Tues, Wed, Thurs, Fri.
Information about the Role:
Working as a Cook / Chef at Denison House your duties will include the following:
* Creating, preparing, and cooking fresh, nutritious and varied meals for our residents including those who may require modified or special diets.
* Ensuring preparation and presentation is always to a high standard.
* planning meals and consulting with residents and care staff to ensure that individual dietary needs and preferences are catered for.
* Some responsibility for ordering, checking in and controlling supplies.
* Working as part of a diverse staff team.
* Opportunities to influence the menu and the dining experience of those within our care. (quarterly review of menus)
* Ensuring that the dining experience is positive.
* Ensuring that the kitchen standards are maintained in line with the Safer Food Better Business requirements.
* To prepare and present food to a high standard and quality.
* To ensure that you work within an agreed budget.
* To manage and order stock.
Information about the Service:
Denison House is a wheelchair accessible home in a lovely residential area in Selby. We are a vibrant and spacious, dementia friendly care home and can support up to 31 individuals. We have 15 ensuite bedrooms, several accessible bathrooms alongside a lift and ramp to assist with movement throughout our home. We work closely with the people we support, the people who are important to them and our local care teams to ensure the people we support at Denison House live well. Our staff are experienced to support individuals 24 hours a day, in a safe way and we have lots of experience of supporting people who live with the early symptoms of Dementia.
Necessary Experience or Qualifications to work as a Cook / Chef:
* The right candidate will have a real passion for Cooking.
* Relevant experience/qualifications in a similar setting working as a Chef or Cook.
* Allergen awareness qualifications.
* Ability to work on shift/rota pattern, including some weekends.
* Have the right to the work in the UK.
* Excellent organisation skills.
* Working knowledge of the Safe Food Better Business requirements.
* Ability to work well under pressure.
