Pertemps are recruiting for an experienced Communications Manager to work with a Public Sector organisation on a temporary assignment for 3 months initially. This role offers remote or hybrid working and requires a candidate with previous communications experience. As a Communications Manager,  the successful candidate should have previous communications experience and be capable of working under pressure and delegating within a team. This role is for immediate start and the successful candidate would be required to have a valid basic disclosure.

Location: Edinburgh / remote working
Pay: £20.35 per hour
Assignment: temporary for 3 months
Hours: 37hrs per week

Main Duties
– Communications handling – drafting timely communications material including lines to take, core scripts and narratives etc.
– Communications management – briefing colleagues on key issues, coordinating responses to media requests and providing specialist communications advice to the programme.
– Collaborative working – working with policy colleagues, communication team and external stakeholders to develop and advise on upcoming communications activity.
– Content creation – creating and sharing dynamic content through web content, newsletters, blogs, social media etc.
– Evaluation – evaluating content to inform future communications planning.

Essential Criteria
1. Excellent written and oral communications skills and judgement.
2. Ability to build effective relationships/networks and use them to achieve communications objectives.
3. Strong organisational skills and creative flair. You should have experience of working across communications disciplines to develop and deliver creative communications plans.
4. Previous relevant experience in a communications or engagement role.
