Graphic Designer
Location: Lympne (Near Hythe), CT21 4LR, Kent.
Contract: Fixed term / maternity cover, 40 hours per week.
Salary: £26,000 – £32,000.

Since starting in 2003, FFX have become one of the UK’s largest independent suppliers of high-quality tools, fixings and building supplies and now we want you to play a key role in our future by joining our friendly Marketing Team.
Reporting to our Design/Marketing Manager, you will act as a brand and marketing guardian by executing our new vision and helping to deliver key strategic campaigns and projects. Working closely with the wider team you will ensure on-time and in-full delivery of creative marketing assets in line with our company mission to make the best tools accessible to everyone.
With a degree in design or equivalent and at least 3 year’s commercial experience, ideally within an agency or similar in-house/freelance role you will be focused strongly on design principles, colour, typography, and digital marketing.
You will be motivated and articulate and have excellent organisational skills, enthusiasm, and passion for developing and delivering solutions. Fluency in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign are essential as are strong presentation and verbal skills.

Responsibilities: This role will sit across 3 key areas of focus – Marketing | Brand | Design.
Marketing Campaigns
• Provide leading creative assets that optimise and promote our digital marketing channels.
• Work closely with the wider marketing team and brands to deliver impactful industry-leading marketing campaigns.
• Keep customer personas and the marketing department's objective in mind when exploring initial concepts.
• Support the website content team with design guidance for customer-focused UI, banner and journey updates. Providing guidelines and creative assets when needed.
Social Media
• Work closely with the Design Manager and Social Media Manager to deliver exciting and relevant social campaign collateral. Inclusive but not limited to Header Banners, Posts and Stories for Instagram, Facebook, Linkedin, TikTok and Youtube.
• Actively look for ways to improve, test new approaches and elevate FFX’s social media experience for customers.
• Create a clean, professional and consistent look and feel that’s in line with the brand and social media strategy.
• Build a suite of design templates for posts, banners and social grid options, to streamline workload and provide a considered approach.
Brand
• Support the Design Manager in the execution and delivery of the wider design strategy across all channels.
• Support with the maintenance and update of brand guidelines, tone of voice, design templates and files.
• Work closely with the Design Manager to translate our brand purpose and values into compelling content and campaigns that drive brand awareness and build brand affinity.
• Support the Design manager and advise other stakeholders on the image and tone of voice used for internal comms to drive an emotional connection with other employees.
Design
• Stay up to date with design trends and industry best practices to ensure the delivery of cutting-edge designs.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously, adhering to deadlines and maintaining high-quality standards.
• Take ownership of the quality and execution of these assets, whilst striving to continually improve and innovate.
• Ensure design consistency across campaigns, including email, website, social and other touch points.
• Showcase skills in research, concept exploration, development and finalisation of ideas.
The Individual
• We’re looking for a motivated, articulate and thoughtful designer, with a strong focus on design principles, colour, typography and digital marketing.
• Independent thinker and doer, with the ability to self-critic and direct once a brief has been given.
• Fluency in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign. As well as strong presentation and verbal skills.
• Ability to produce gifs and moving images for marketing (likely social media and website assets).
• We’d like to see this role take ownership of work and ensure accuracy, consistency, and quality at all stages.
• Support, challenge and encourage junior members of your team, by providing constructive feedback and advice on work.
• Present ideas and concepts in a clear, concise, and motivating way.
Education and Qualifications
• At least 3+ years of commercial experience, ideally within an agency or similar in-house/freelance role.
• A bachelor’s degree in design or equivalent experience is required.
