Bindery Operative | Hertfordshire | Monday-Friday 7:30am-4:00pm | Overtime can be available based on company’s requirements | £23,000 to £27,000 per annum based on skills

This is an exciting opportunity to join a small, friendly team!

In this role, you will work in all areas assisting in operating specialist machinery within the bindery. Duties will also include bench working, operating simple machinery, checking and despatching finished books and receiving of goods onto the premises.

You must have excellent communication skills and a can-do attitude for the business requirements. You must have good attention to detail, accuracy and most importantly a good sense of humour especially when working under pressure.

Good computer skills are required
Good self-organisational skills
Good numeracy and literacy
Good verbal communication skills
Must live local – within 30 minutes MAX travelling time to SG1 2XU
Ability to meet the physical demands of the job
The ability to work well with others and alone
Flexible and willing to take on a variety of tasks
Punctual, reliable, and dependable
Self-motivated and pro-active
Skills within bookbinding or print finishing will be a great benefit but are not essential as on-site training will be given for all operations and machinery
Work well within a team and be able to work solo
What will your role look like?

Prepare materials for production
Bench working as required
Operate simple machinery
Assist with main production machines
Quality checking throughout all processes
Final check and packing books for despatch via courier or pallet services
Arranging for courier collections and deliveries
Adhering to health and safety standards
