Air Conditioning Breakdown & Installation Manager

Job Type : Permanent, Full Time

Salary : £10000/month

Reports To: Divisional Manager – Air Conditioning & Ventilation Division

Responsible For: Managing Air Conditioning & Ventilation breakdowns and installations

Key Tasks:

Undertake specific projects both commercial and domestic from inception through design, tender, installation, and commissioning to final handover within agreed programs.
Supervise Breakdown Coordinator & Engineers and provide technical advice and assistance when required.
Provide cover for Breakdown Coordinator and Maintenance Manager.
Supervise design and installation work and program.
Supervise employees and subcontractors on site with regard to standard of work, conduct, and timekeeping.
Procurement of materials for projects.
Client liaison.
Maintain project budget information and provide reports.
Check commissioning certificates.
Provide client quotations.
Provide technical advice to employees, subcontractors, and clients.
Carry out initial site surveys.
Ensure Health & Safety requirements are met on all projects including provision of Method Statements & Risk Assessments.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Qualifications:

City & Guilds 2079 F Gas
City & Guilds NVQ Level 2/3 Refrigeration and Air Conditioning
Experience:

Experience of design, estimating, and contract management for both commercial and domestic new build and refurbishment projects.
Experience of managing breakdowns/call-outs/service & maintenance.
Experience of managing projects and delivering against contracted targets with a keen aptitude for efficient procurement.
Experience of managing staff including subcontractors.
Experience of carrying out risk assessments and managing safety at work.
Knowledge & Skills:

Excellent inter-personal skills; able to influence, persuade, and negotiate with all levels of people effectively.
Ability to cope under pressure and ensure deadlines are met.
Strong attention to detail.
Good organisation skills.
Demonstrate self-motivation and initiative to get to the heart of a problem and take it through to completion.
Background in the use of computers and data handling including Microsoft Office systems, Word, and Excel.
