Location: London or Birmingham

Role Description:

The (LMU) team are looking for a Landscape Architects to work on HS2 Detailed Design. You would be joining a growing team, which consists of 70+ people offering the full spectrum of Landscape Architecture, Master planning and Urban Design services. The services range from Masterplanning, urban regeneration, strategic planning, design concept through to detail and implementation, and Environmental Assessment and LVIA.

As part of our HS2 team you will have a strong focus on taking a technical lead role in the delivery of the Detailed Design Packages.

You will collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams including our in-house disciplines, high-profile designers, and our sector leading external partners. You will have the opportunity to work on some of the UK's largest, most complex, and technically demanding projects. These currently include major large-scale Masterplans, City Centre public realm Regeneration projects, Green Infrastructure strategies and Landscape Masterplanning for some of the UK's largest residential and mixed-use developments as well as significant infrastructure projects such as:

* High Speed Rail 2

* Perry Barr Regeneration Development

* Various Future High Street Fund projects and Town Investment Funds

* Northstowe Masterplan / Urban extension

* Rochdale Canal and various other Projects (Canal and River Trust)

* M4 Smart Motorway

* Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects (NSIPs) such as Lower Thames Crossing.

However, not all the projects are large scale. The team have equally exciting smaller projects and, together, present a rich and varied portfolio of projects and clients including at national and local levels, and in both the private and public sector.

What we are looking for:

* Experience working as a Landscape Architect in infrastructure led projects i.e. rail or highways

* Confident communication skills and report writing

* Proficient in AutoCAD and Adobe user

* Desired: 3D Civils and 3d Sketchup, Modelling tools, Project Wise

* Desired: Horticultural experience

* Technical lead of HS2 related landscape work, shaping and delivering exceptional outcomes for clients, including detailed design experience. After HS2 is finished, working on the wider LMU projects

* Trusted client advisor – experienced in building relationships with Senior Client Team members, internally and externally. Able to understand their needs and drivers, ability to shape and influence outcomes

* Confident in designing landscape detailed design outputs including planting designs, specifications and management plans

* Confident in leading the design report production and creatively combining graphics and text to communicate design ideas

* Ability to lead by example working on multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects, ideally within a consultancy environment

* Ability to work within commercial constraints to provide output on budget and programme

* Attend meetings and represent the landscape team to design and agree landscape solutions

* Experience as a Line Manager, ability to manage with proactive dialogue encompassing staff wellbeing and personal development. Understanding of staff professional development needs and career pathway

* Clean Driving Licence

Qualifications & Experience

* Degree/Diploma in Landscape Architecture or closely related subject

* Chartered membership with the Landscape Institute
