Job overview:

The AIUX team is looking for a Visual Designer to focus on creating beautiful, thoughtful, and creative visuals and assets including Imagery assets, UI, specs – supporting our UX team in executing on 2 high priority web-based initiatives.

About our team

AIUX is a multi-functional experience, research and strategy team in the Research organisation. Our focus is on bringing a human-first approach to advanced R&D. Our work spans all phases of the product development cycle, from early stage ideation through external product launch.

Responsibilities

Develop visual UI concepts and designs for Mill's new browseable 'collections' section of our hub site. Working in collaboration with our team
Produce imagery and motion assets for the Mill website, subscriber emails and 'remix' content
Develop reusable design templates for our email channel
Create visual design concepts for the Research Website project
Produce imagery and motion assets for the Research website
Work within the brand language of each initiative and stretch it's application to new artefacts
Collaborate with and support the team in curating style guides/shared resources to streamline future asset production processes
Execute against several work-streams in a fast-paced environment and deliver aesthetically excellent, conceptually based work that is true to the brand spirit
Ensure that project files are correctly labeled, organized and stored
Ensure assets such as copy are current and correct

Mandatory

BA/BS degree in Design (e.g. interaction, graphic, visual communications, product, industrial), HCI, CS, or a related field OR equivalent experience
Extensive relevant work experience
Strong portfolio demonstrating core design skills; ability to establish and work with visual hierarchy, layouts, grids, typography, photography, iconography and color effectively
Solid experience in UI systems, redline specifications, and style guides
Ability to keep materials on-brand and to spec
Strong command of website design and email communications
Experience in Figma and expertise in specialist tools (eg Adobe creative suite)
Ability to juggle multiple priorities on tight deadlines without compromising quality

Desired

Experience working within, building or extending design systems
Experience designing for Print a plus
Prior agency experience is preferred
Prior experience working with a remote UX team is preferred.
