Workshop Technician

We are currently recruiting for an experienced workshop technician to work for one of larger companies based in Birmingham.
Job purpose for Workshop technician
To provide a repair and maintenance service for the Divisions machinery and plant equipment.
Duties and responsibilities
To carry out repairs and services to machinery and plant equipment.
To carry out mobile repairs and services on departmental sites.
Carry out any necessary repairs to machinery and plant equipment to comply with standards and policies.
To operate any necessary tools and equipment after appropriate training for the purpose of maintaining and repairing machinery and plant equipment. This includes the use of electrical, welding, grinding and cutting tools.
In liaison with Workshop Manager, arranging for the appropriate use of all necessary materials to complete the tasks.
Carry out specified inspections to workshop vehicles, machinery and equipment as required.
Complete all necessary paper / IT systems in relation to job purpose i.e. worksheets and service records.
Ensure that all health and safety requirements in relation to the job are undertaken as far as possible and that health and safety standards meet the specification and the departmental safety policy.
Ensure as far as possible that you meet your individual health and safety responsibilities.
With his/her responsibilities to take all reasonable steps to safeguard the public and other employees from any risk to their health and safety which may arise from the role of Workshop Technicians.
Carry out such other associated duties as may from time to time incidentally arise, develop or be assigned.

Salary: £14.11 per hour
Working hours are 7am till 3pm Monday to Friday – 36.5 per week
Location: BIRMINGHAM
Duration: Ongoing
