Job Type : Contract, Full Time

Salary : £11.18/hour

Our Client is seeking a Waste Operative on an initial 3 Month contract with the possibility of an extension.

Working Hours:

37 Hours Per Week, 06:30 – 16:15.

Pay Rate:

£11.18 Per Hour PAYE

Role Overview:

Tasks will include but are not limited to hedge cutting, strimming, leaf blowing, large pedestrian mowers and litter picking.

Key Responsibilities:

Collect waste from designated areas, following established schedules and routes.
Load waste into collection vehicles manually or using mechanical equipment.
Sort recyclable materials from general waste and place them in appropriate containers.
Assist in the unloading of waste at disposal sites or recycling centres.
Operate waste collection equipment, such as compactors and lifting mechanisms, safely and efficiently.
Collaborate with other team members and drivers to optimize collection routes.
Adhere to safety guidelines and protocols to ensure a secure work environment.
Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to supervisors promptly.
Communicate with residents and businesses regarding waste disposal guidelines and regulations.
Maintain a respectful and professional demeanour while interacting with the public.Essentials:

It is essential the candidates are able to/have: A full driving licence as they will be expected to drive vans no bigger than 3.5 tonnes as per their own personal license allows. Previous experience of driving 3.5Tonne vans and towing trailers would be an advantage but not essential.

Qualifications and Skills:

Experience working within a garden maintenance or similar role. Tasks will include but are not limited to hedge cutting, strimming, leaf blowing, large pedestrian mowers and litter picking.
Physical fitness and ability to handle heavy lifting and repetitive tasks.
Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
Effective communication skills to interact with team members and the public.
Basic numeracy skills for route planning and record-keeping.
Knowledge of waste disposal regulations and safety procedures is advantageous.
