Major Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Tree Surgeon in Loughton
Working hours: 7am till 3pm (35h a week) 30min break
Location: Loughton IG10
Pay rate: £19.
Key Responsibilities
To carry out practical arboricultural work using rope and harness and mobile elevated work platform, (MEWP), including crown reduction, tree pruning, sectional felling/dismantling and pollarding.
To carry out general tree and woodland management, including tree felling, coppicing and scrub clearance or other habitat works.
To operate arboricultural and forestry equipment such as chainsaws, woodchippers, stump grinders, tractors and winches.
To maintain and repair machinery, equipment, and tools relevant to the post and report faults.
Undertake tree and woodland survey work including basic tree hazard assessments when required.
To liaise with the public and staff, to provide onsite information about the management of the Forest.
Participate in on-the-job or other training/development courses to improve ability and effectiveness to carry out duties.
Experience Required
2 years post qualification climbing experience
Tree climbing and MEWP operation, crown reduction, pollarding and thinning
Sectional felling and dismantling, tree felling
Working knowledge of the operation and maintenance of a broad range of arboricultural and forestry equipment
Professional Qualifications
City and Guilds Level 3 Certificate of Competence in Aerial Tree Rigging
City and Guilds NPTC Level 2 Safe use of manually fed wood-chipper
IPAF static boom (1b)
NRSWA operative (Desirable)
B1+E driving licence
Full UK (or acceptable equivalent) driving licence
Qualified First Aider or willing to work towards certification
