Landmarc Support Services currently have an exciting opportunity for a Training Area Operative to join the team at Pembrey Sands Air Weapons Range.

As the Training Area Operative, you will play a key part in helping to maintain a safe, efficient and sustainable place for our Armed Forces to train, this pivotal role is essential to the delivery of the contract.

We are looking for someone who either has previous knowledge of working on the Defence Training Estate or someone who is keen to learn new skills and bring an enthusiastic willingness to learn, Landmarc will provide full training.

This role is being offered on a permanent basis, covering 42.75 hours per week from Monday – Friday. There will be the occasional opportunity to work evenings, rewarded at the appropriate pay rate.

Main ResponsibilitiesPreparing firing ranges for use

Construction of targets for range use

Provide access control into the range danger area

Preventative and Reactive maintenance tasks

Grounds maintenance such as; fencing, mowing and strimming

Operation and maintenance of plant and equipment (training will be provided)

Driving and operating fleet vehicles

To ensure that the Air Weapons Range adhere to safe systems of work

To complete all relevant documentation utilising both IT and paper based systems

Carry out any other additional requirements as needed

The Ideal CandidateExcellent knowledge of Health & Safety, COSHH, manual handling, risk assessments and safe systems of work

Excellent communicator with people on all levels

Basic IT skills

Work in a diverse multi-tasking team environment

Ability to operate plant machinery (desirable)

Prepared to undertake further training

Must hold a full valid UK driving licence (essential)
