Hours: Monday to Friday 8.30 – 5pm (40 hours)

Location: Ceredigion, West Wales

Our Client, a family-owned, fast-growing International Dairy Business, is looking for a HSE Manager to work at their site based in Ceredigion, West Wales. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing & controlling all aspects of Health & Safety compliance within the site.

Reporting to the Factory Manager, the key responsibilities for the role are:

· Day-to-day management of safety site issues and regular informal & formal auditing of the site facilities and related procedures, including all safe systems of work

· Compliance with, and certification to, ISO45001

· Legislative compliance – plans and information reporting

· Operating effective Safety management review meetings

· Development and maintenance of H&S systems and the associated performance reporting and continuous improvement

· Keeping records of incidents and accidents

· Using CI reporting to drive continuous improvements in all safety & environmental aspects of site operations

· Carrying out regular site inspections and audits to check policies and procedures are being properly implemented

· Leading in-house training with managers and employees about health and safety issues and risks, including induction training for all new and temporary employees

· Chairing and producing minutes for the site safety meetings, ensuring that all action points raised are closed out in a timely manner

Essential skills and experience include:

Minimum Level 3 NEBOSH/IOSH General Certificate in Health and Safety

Experienced in a Health, Safety and Environmental role as either a Manager or Supervisor

*

Ideally Lead Auditor for either ISO14001 or ISO45001 (with recognised Transition Lead Assessor Training for the other standard)

*

Experience in an HSE role within Food Manufacturing is an advantage, but other Manufacturing experience may also be relevant

*

Strong communication and reporting skills

*

Self-driven and professional attitude at all times

*

Knowledge and understanding of all legislative requirements relating to occupational health & safety, through experience and qualification

*

Respected as an expert in the field of safety management
