Supplier Relationship Manager

Job Type : Permanent, Full Time

Salary :

The Supplier Relationship Manager will ensure that the internal IT department are managing their key supplier relationships effectively and implementing rigorous controls to manage operational risk, obtaining best value from strongly negotiated contracts and improving delivery efficiencies from its suppliers through collaborative working. They will manage a portfolio of IT suppliers and contracts up to the value of £10m.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES / ACTIVITIES:

Supplier Management

– Provide a customer focused supplier relationship management service whilst attaining appropriate standards of operational delivery, such as:

o timely contract renewals

o timely and effective stakeholder management

o robust risk mitigation management

o regular awareness seminars/skills share sessions

o rigorous budget controls

– Review supplier’s goals/direction and ensure they remain aligned to current and future needs to deliver effective, forward thinking services

– Undertake supplier assurance activities to assure that suppliers have adequate security controls in place to manage data

– Drive supplier management tasks via CMDB and other systems and liaise with service owners to monitor, review and future proofing the services they deliver

– Management of Cloud Services with a focus on Billing Consoles, including familiarity with Cloud Calculator to determine (i.e. Payment Models for different Cloud Services)

– Ensure that the IT team have an on boarding and exit strategy for each supplier, as well as ensuring the service transition is supported as and when contracts end

– Build strong relationships and work closely with other departments or any service or supplier orientated programmes

Contract Management

– Work with Procurement or other procurement bodies to ensure contracts have been developed with:

o due diligence

o accurate and appropriate requirements and service levels

o monitoring of performance, operational risk and financial stability in mind

o adequate management information to ensure visibility of supplier management performance

o use of the correct procurement routes such as Digital Marketplace and frameworks

– Manage contracts ranging in value up to £10m, ensuring contracts are renewed/expired as appropriate

– Provide Best Practice advice to internal stakeholders and assist them with developing high quality requirements prior to procurement activities

– Co-ordinate contract and supplier management controls across IT, including maintenance of a schedule of contract dates and other relevant contract/supplier data

Service Delivery Support

– Underpin IT service delivery through:

o monitoring suppliers’ performance against contractual obligations

o monitoring Service Level Agreements using scorecards and dashboards

o obtaining regular feedback from service delivery teams on supplier performance

o being an escalation point in the supplier management chain

o holding regular service review meetings

o managing service improvement plans where necessary

– Build strong collaborative relationships with suppliers and internal teams to drive strategic value

Risk Management

– Initiate, review and maintain risk assessments of suppliers

– Manage a portfolio view of supplier performance risks and issues

Documentation

– Maintain strong communications with key stakeholders and deliver consistent, accurate information through channels such as;

o SIaM intranet

o Knowledge sharing forums

o Working group forums

– Providing regular status reporting to the senior management

QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE / SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE:

Essential:

* ITIL V3 Foundation or V4

* An understanding of the complex commercial and technical interactions within a Service Integration and Management (SIaM) based organisation

* The ability to develop strong productive working relationships with suppliers and with multiple stakeholders within the company

* Risk management skills, with the ability to analyse, anticipate and balance risks and responses

* Excellent communication skills at all levels, including influencing and negotiation

* Experience in the field of Supplier Relationship Management, including leading supplier performance reviews with third parties and initiating, agreeing and monitoring performance improvement plans with suppliers

* ICT experience, particularly on the Management of Cloud based technologies, Billing Consoles and Cloud Calculator, End User Computing and Infrastructure/Network

* Self-motivated and demonstrates initiative in all areas of their work

* Adopts and displays core company values

Desirable:

* Contract Management experience

* Good understanding of technology service outsourcing

* Experience in public procurement processes and public procurement regulations

* Knowledge of supplier assessment and management techniques

* ICT knowledge on ERP Solution
