Salary : £31000 – £34000/annum

Our client is looking for a Spray Operator to join their team in the Chichester area. Working within a Fresh Produce environment.

In this role, you will be responsible for the delivery of the day-to-day spray operations. Ensuring that tasks are completed at the optimum timing and to a high standard. Adhering to all health and safety requirements of the role and taking responsibility for pre-use checks and maintenance on any machinery and/or equipment used.

Duties will include but not be limited to:
* Ensuring that all work carried out is completed with the full awareness of you and your colleague's health and safety.
* Ensuring that Risk Assessments are adhered to when necessary.
* Ensuring that accurate entries are maintained for spraying records and pre-use checks.
* Ensuring that all documents required for audits are kept up to date on a day-to-day basis.
* Ensuring that the chemical stores are kept tidy and secured when not in use.
* Ensuring spray operations are undertaken in line with relevant COSHH assessments.
* Calibrate spraying equipment to ensure that the correct rate is being applied to the crop.
* Prepare spray equipment for annual NSTS testing.
* Carry out general maintenance on spray equipment where necessary.
* Collect CPD points to maintain NRoSO registration.
* Maintain the spray filling area, ensuring that it is in a clean and tidy state and compliant with all environmental regulations.
* Disposal of pesticide containers in compliance with environmental regulations.
* Maintain Muddyboots GLGM records.
* Responsible for pre-use checks and maintenance of spray equipment and machinery being used.
* Ensure that all equipment is appropriately washed out between sprays and cleaned thoroughly at the end of each day.

Ideally, you will have:
* Basic knowledge of pesticides and their use (together with integrated crop management techniques) and focus on increasing knowledge through appropriate training.
* Experience in a similar role.
* Previous experience spraying.
* A recognised qualification (PA1, PA6, etc.) and tractor driving experience, but training will be provided for the right candidate.
* Have a basic knowledge of pesticides and their use (together with integrated crop management techniques) and focus on increasing knowledge through appropriate training.

Please note that a clean UK/EU Driving Licence is required for the role.
Our client is willing to pay up to £34,000 per annum and 25 days of holiday plus Bank Holidays.
