Location – Merseyside
Salary – Up to £50 – £55K DOE
We are looking for a Senior Ecologist for a renewable energy company based in Merseyside. They specialise in taking solar, wind and battery storage projects from inception and feasibility through to implementation and operation. The Senior Ecologist will lead a small team to prepare and coordinate all ecological information in relation to the submission of their planning applications. Ideally you will have experience of taking projects through the planning system, with a proven track record in project coordination and delivery.
SENIOR/PRINCIPAL ECOLOGIST KEY SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
* A degree in ecology
* Membership of a professional body, CIEEM or CIWEM
* A significant track record in successful delivery across a range of projects, ideally with some renewable energy experience
* Licenced for at least one protected species,
* Broad level of site survey experience and coordination/management of ecological subconsultants
* Provision of ecological input into planning applications and other consents
* The production of Biodiversity Management Plans and BNG calculations
* Good report writing skills with attention to detail
* A thorough understanding of UK Wildlife legislation, policy and best practice survey methodologies
* The ability to be flexible and adaptive and work well under pressure and tight deadlines
* Experience of working within or managing multidisciplinary teams.
* The ability to work independently or as part of a team
* A full UK driving licence, access to your own vehicle and a willingness to travel throughout the UK

* Salary up to £50-55k subject to experience
