Graduate Recruitment Consultant (Rail)

Job Type : Permanent, Full Time

Salary : £20000 – £22000/annum + Bonuses

About Us/Recruitment
ALink Recruitment have been operating for 18 months but we have over a decade of recruitment experience behind us. We have a unique opportunity for a hardworking, proactive graduate that is looking to get into a recruitment role. Recruitment is not as easy as a lot of people think. If you want a long and prosperous career within recruitment, it’s not about quick wins, it’s about establishing, building and maintaining longstanding trusted relationships with both candidates and clients. Recruitment is not a skill, it’s a skillset. You need:
* To be persuasive but honest with your approach
* To be consultative to best advise both candidates and clients
* Strong negotiation skills
* To be empathetic and understand people’s emotions and driving factors
* To be a clear communicator and follow up with what you say
* Good time management
* To be consistent, organised and approachable
Recruitment can be difficult and you will often get a lot of setbacks, which is why you need to be resilient. However, if done correctly recruitment can be a very fulfilling and rewarding job. You have the opportunity to change people’s lives and help define their careers, whilst it also being very financially lucrative to yourself. You can become an expert in your niche where people approach you for career advice and life changing decisions.
The Role
For the first 12 months, the position will be based in the client offices in Canary Wharf so you will be sat amongst the team you will be supporting. There will be no need for business development as you will be working solely with the medium-sized engineering consultancy that is rapidly growing, helping them to fill all their permanent and contract requirements. You will have 1-to-1 training with the Director of ALink: training, advising and directing you. The role will be hybrid so you can work from the client offices part of the week and from home the rest of it. Unlike most traditional agencies, you will be targeted on financials and not daily KPIs, which means you can focus on delivering an excellent service and not making calls for the sake of it.
After a 12-month period, you will be tasked with building your own desk; developing business and creating great relationships with clients across the industry. By this time. you should already have many distinguished relations with candidates within the industry at this stage but you will now be looking to build your own reputation with clients; creating, building and maintaining relationships with both small and very large organisations. You will always be fully supported throughout your career by somebody with over a decade of recruitment experience.
We are looking for a resilient, driven, competitive but empathetic person to join our growing business. You must be confident talking to people in person and over the phone, as well as having excellent written communication through email.
Why Apply
* £20k – £22k basic salary
* Uncapped commission/bonus scheme
* 1:1 training with an expert in the field
* Unique opportunity to sit within the client offices; meaning no business development for the first 12 months
* Modern offices
* No KPIs
* Hybrid working
* Flexible working hours available
There will be a 2-stage interview process; the first will be a telephone conversation and if successful, a face-to-face interview in Canary Wharf will follow
