Job Type : Permanent, Full Time

Salary : £70000 – £90000/annum Excellent Salary + Bonus + Car

Job Purpose
Responsible for identifying and developing new sales opportunities and account management of existing customers, with a prime focus on increasing sales in the valves and automation segment in the Northern region of the UK across Oil, Gas, Petrochemical, Chemical, Power, Renewables/New Energies and other associated process industries.
Duties and Responsibilities
Individual must be able to perform the essential duties with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Identify, establish and develop new customers across the region
• Network extensively to develop customer relationships
• Manage existing long term customer relationships and consistently review how these can be developed to increase spend
• Grow sales & margin through a focused business plan
• Develop business through new product development and new applications for existing products
• Liaise with management to create and implement a sales & marketing business plan for the account base
• Liaise with management to establish sales & margin budgets – set targets and review on a regular basis
• Liaise with cross functional teams to achieve and exceed customer expectations, including internal/external sales, finance and operations colleagues.
• Prepare and issue weekly call plans
• Prepare and issue weekly visit reports
• Seek and share feedback on customer and competitor activity, identifying and communicating opportunities and threats
• Access and update such CRM, ERP and business IT tools as required
• Prepare and issue monthly forecast reports
• Attend and contribute to regular sales meetings – both at group and local level
• Extensive travel is required across the Southern or Northern region of the UK to meet customer demand.
Education, Experience & Ability Requirements
Any combination of requirements, which provide knowledge and abilities necessary to perform essential duties and responsibilities, will be considered.
• At least 5 years sales experience with a successful track record of profitable sales delivery, ideally in the in the valves sector
• Solid knowledge of valve & automation products, both quarter turn & multi-turn and ancillary products
• Experience in the oil and gas industry is desirable
• Strong commercial acumen
• Ability to negotiate at all levels, and manage the most demanding customers
• Able to prioritise with good time management skills to maximise working week
• Self-motivated, proven target driven achiever
• Excellent communication skills – written and verbal with strong presentation skills
• Excellent people management and skills – being able to develop strong internal & external relationships, and ability to perform as part of a close knit team
• Change agile, able to respond positively to fast paced changes to the business environment
• Driving license is essential
