Contek Recruitment are working with a well-established Precision Engineering company, who are seeking an experienced Quality Inspector to join their team in Portsmouth. My client offers precision engineering ranging from prototyping to new tooling in the Automotive and rubber tooling sectors.
Due to new acquisition, my client are making improved changes and investing into the future.
Hours are a 40 hour week 8am to 4pm mon-fri with plenty of overtime opportunities.
Work Priority:
* Inspection of components to drawings/CAD data using both general inspection equipment and CMM's (Manual and CNC)
* Utilize appropriate inspection hardware for the right job.
* Ensure inspection strategies are efficient and within planned time.
* Ensure given priorities are worked to given from the Production Manager.
* Ensure accreditations and procedures are adhered to at all times.
* Ensure MRB, NCR and CAR processes are effectively carried out in a timely manner.
Responsibilities:
* Conducting in-production and final inspection of manufactured part as required.
* Must have experience with Geometric Tolerances and Drawings.
* Developing CMM programs for inspection of products.
* Control and communicating of internal and external rejects.
* Actively review the rejects to establish preventative measures to stop recurring rejects.
* Support continuous improvement plans resulting from rejects investigations (Internal and External).
* Participate in internal and external audits where applicable.
* Support the in-house equipment calibration process.
* Liaise and communicate between Production and Quality Management team with work schedule and priorities.
* Liaise with the Manufacturing Engineering and Production Control team to implement the improvement plans on manufacturing/assembly processes.
* Lead and participate in problem solving teams aimed at process improvements.
* Develop and implement in-process monitoring and measurement for continuous improvement of manufactured products.
Ideally you will have experience with both manual and programmable CMM's with Nikon CMM manager and scanner, also QCT 3D PRO
