Contek are working with a high precision engineering company in King's Lynn who are currently seeking an experienced Quality Inspector, reporting to the Production Services Supervisor. This role is for an expanding company who have a fantastic future ahead and exciting prospects.
Core working hours are 7:00am to 5:30pm, Monday to Thursday
My client has been in existence for 40 years – and specialises in making high precision parts for scientific instruments but also has significant business in specialist automotive, aerospace, and defense, to name but a few markets.
The primary purpose of the role is to support core manufacturing with Inspection duties and any additional services within sub-assembly.
This includes, but is not limited to, inspection activities, coordination of sub-contracted finishing of parts with preferred suppliers and assisting with the sub-assembly of specific components to a level dictated by the customer.
Work Priority:
* Inspection of components to drawings/CAD data using both general inspection equipment and CMM's, ideally with Aberlink software (Software training provided)
* Utilize appropriate inspection hardware for the right job.
* Ensure inspection strategies are efficient and within planned time.
* Ensure given priorities are worked to given from the Production Supervisor.
* Ensure accreditations and procedures are adhered to at all times.
* Ensure FAIRS, NCR and CAR processes are effectively carried out in a timely manner.
Secondary Tasks (depending on time available):
* Sub assembly of specific components to a level dictated by the customer.
* Interpreting drawings and video instructions for manual assembly of parts.
* Soldering electronics (Small components).
* Liaising with the Production Supervisor regarding sub-assembly build.
* Use of manual hand tools.
