Legal Secretary
Job Type : Permanent, Full Time
Salary : £18000 – £22000/annum
My client has a fantastic opportunity for a Legal Secretary to join the Wills & Probate department of their firm based in the outskirts of York!
Responsibilities include:
* Responding to inbound phone calls and answering queries, forwarding calls to fee earners/colleagues as required.
* Recording all correspondence on the Case Management System.
* Handling inbound and outbound post
* Preparing files for archiving, bringing them to the attention of the fee earner, ensuring files are signed off and sent to reception for archiving off the system
* Ensuring all filing is up to date and organised, progressing files as delegated by fee earners
* Copy and audio typing of letters, file notes and conveyancing forms
* Any other tasks as reasonably delegated by the fee earner or within the practice including providing cover for other secretaries and reception as and when necessary
The ideal candidate:
* Highly organised with the ability to effectively prioritise tasks and meet deadlines
* Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) in dealing with clients and colleagues alike
* Good telephone manner and customer service skills
* Enthusiastic team player with a commitment to client care
* Previous experience as a Legal Secretary or another role with a legal background would prove advantageous, though it isn’t essential for the role
* Must have previous Secretarial or Audio Typing experience
