Family Solicitor
Job Type : Permanent, Full Time
Salary : £25000 – £55000/annum
My client is searching for a Family Solicitor to join their Blackburn, Lancashire offices.
Main purposes of role
• To work competently as a Solicitor / Legal Executive in the Family Law Department.
• To deal with all aspects of private Family Law cases from inception to completion.
• To support the general development of the Family Law Department by working collaboratively with colleagues to provide a full service offering to family clients.
Responsibilities
• To provide accurate Family Law advice to clients.
• To handle Private Family Law matters from the initial client, contact through to completion.
• Find an appropriate solution for prospective Family Law clients and convert into new business for the firm.
• Handle a purely privately funded caseload of private law work including Ancillary Relief,
• Divorce, Finances, Separation, Injunctions, Civil Partnerships, Cohabitation Disputes, Pre and Post Nuptial Agreements, Children Act work.
• Deal with matter related enquiries.

• Written and oral communication skills
• IT skills
• Advocacy skills a bonus bot not essential
Experience
• Qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive with 3-6 years PQE
• Completed LPC
• Completed a degree or equivalent qualification
• Children's Panel membership or working towards such would be an advantage here but is not essential
• Candidates should have experience in aspects of Family law such as: Divorce, Children, Mediation, Financial matters, Collaborative law and Domestic Violence
• Wills and Probate (not essential)
• Knowledge and understanding of GDPR and Equality Standards
