A very well established and growing Landscaping company is looking for a bright, quick learning Landscape Foreman in a role that has huge scope for further training and progression.

Job Role

To manage the on-site day to day planning and execution of Ground Maintenance contracts

To be punctual and proactive at all times.

To ensure all the team and sub-contracted staff are managed and utilised to maximum capacity as well as the plant resources

To ensure compliance with Health & Safety, Quality and Environmental systems as required by the company.

To provide support for the Contracts Supervisor.

Ensure the team work professionally and are good brand ambassadors

Responsibilities and Tasks

Carry out landscape maintenance duties as required including mowing, strimming, pruning, hand weeding, litter picking and watering. 

Foreman must be contactable by works mobile at all reasonable times.
Liaise with the Contracts Supervisor with regards to onsite programming of works.
Liaise with Contracts Supervisor with regards to selection of pesticides required, application rates and techniques required.
Ensure appropriate PPE is allocated and used by all employees on site at all times.
Provide support to Contracts Supervisor by dealing with day to day issues that arise on site.
Ensure vehicles and chemicals are kept locked at all times when not occupied.
Prior to mowing, inspect all sites for hazards and ensure mowers are set at correct levels.
Control of all plant and materials, checking that tools, machinery and vehicles are maintained and cleaned every day.
Carry out operations with total regard for the safety of all operatives and members of the public at all times and to the standard expected by the company.
Ensure First aid boxes are in place and fully equipped, know to contact Contract Supervisor if replacements needed.
Liaise with Contracts Supervisor with regards to H&S and Quality matters. All accidents are to be entered into the company accident book by the Contracts Supervisor.
Ensuring on site activities comply with Health & Safety regulations.
Collection of operatives for transporting to site as required allowing adequate time to arrive at site. Make sure operatives comply with agreed break times.
Ensure company van is always kept clean and tidy and is serviced at the correct intervals. Carry out daily checks of fuel, oil and water. Ensure van is not overloaded.
Liaise with client or their representative on site in an appropriate manner, attend site meetings when required.
Ensure all operatives have induction on site where appropriate.
Ensure waste is managed and disposed of correctly under direction of Contracts Supervisor
Responsible for identification of any training needs for operatives and communication to the Contracts Supervisor.
Other duties as required. 

Requirements:

Good horticultural knowledge with at least 3 years experience in the industry which includes: general ground maintenance; pruning, pest & disease control, planting, weeding, irrigation, turf care, using hand and powered horticultural machinery.
Driving license
Good command of English
H&S awareness
Good leadership skills
Good client facing skills
Organised and understands how to prioritise jobs
