An opportunity has arisen for a Kitchen Porter to join the Potters Heron Hotel – a beautiful thatched 53-bed hotel situated between Winchester and Southampton. As a Kitchen Porter, your responsibilities will be:

* To be clean, tidy, on time and raring to go at all times.

* To enable the kitchen to work, everyone must work together. Success depends on the very plates their fabulous meals are served on, and they must always be spotless!

* To be organised – ensuring the chef has all their equipment to hand and the front of house has clean cutlery and cups.

* To keep the kitchen clean at all times.

* To prioritise your tasks – knowing which high-use item to wash next to keep the busy kitchen team working.

We are looking for someone with the following skills and experience:

* Ideally have experience as a Kitchen Porter or looking for your first role in a kitchen.

* This is a physically demanding role, which includes lifting and cleaning heavy equipment so you should be comfortable with completing such tasks.

* The desire to get it right for the customer.

* The ability to pay attention when you are learning something new and ask questions when you are not sure.

* You are committed to your own professional development and want to go far (they can help with that).

* Due to the location of the Hotel you will most likely need your own transport.

* Being a Kitchen Porter is hard work and the kitchen operates seven days a week from early morning until quite late at night, so flexibility is key. This will include working weekends and Christmas.

Low-cost, live-in accommodation may be available.
