We have a brand-new Head of Operations role working for an amazing production company based in central Bristol

The company

The organisation is an award-winning creative business, which has been established for nearly 10 years. 

The role

The business is looking for an interim Head of Operations for a fixed term 10-month contract to cover maternity leave. Reporting into the MD you will help with the day to day running of the studio at a senior level, focussing on the operational side of the business.

Duties will include:

Ensuring all operations are carried out in the most efficient and cost-effective way
Office management including health and safety and being the lead contact for the office landlord
Ensuring the smooth running of the office on a day-to-day basis, delegating work where necessary
Line Manager to Studio Manager
Being first port of call for HR issues to filter through to the relevant manager
Mange freelancer bookings and recruitment, liaising with Exec Producers on each job from the outset to plan and get the best people at the best rates, and locked in at the right time
Manage freelance contracts
Liaising with IT staff and providers, ensuring the contract renewals are managed appropriately and supplier reviewed annually to ensure the best value for each product
Supporting the Finance Director with processing supplier invoices, completing a weekly bank reconciliation, ensuring finance approval is sought in advance of committing the company to any expenditure where necessary
Continually review and improve processes across the business, identifying areas that require improvement and work with key stakeholders to implement changes
Organise Director’s travel
Work with the FD to implement a new finance and HR system
 The person

The candidate will ideally have worked in a production environment before
You will have worked in an operational or studio manager role
Knowledge of HR processes and day to day financial management is key
You will be organised, good at building relationships, making decisions, and proactively making things happen
Reliability and discretion are key as you will often learn of confidential matters
Salary and Benefits

 £35,000 – £45,000 depending on experience

40 hours per week with core hours between 9am and 5pm (with flexibility between 8am and 6pm). The company can be flexible from 35 hours if required
