Monday to Friday 7.30am to 3.30pm (37.5 hours per week)
Our local authority client manage and maintain outdoor, public greenspaces such as parks and cemeteries.
We have seasonal and permanent opportunities to join their team as Grounds Maintenance Operatives.
Working hours are Monday to Friday, 7.30am to 3.30pm. With a thirty-minute lunch break which is deducted, that is 37.5 hours per week.
The aim of this position is to effectively assistant a grounds maintenance team, ensuring client requirements and contract specifications are fully met.
A driving licence is preferred but horticultural experience takes priority over that.
We are looking for pro-active individuals with a good work ethic who are team players and reliable. Applicants are expected to work in all types of weather.
For the right people, there are opportunities to secure permanent employment.
Duties include:
* Grass and hedge cutting using petrol mowers and strimmers
* Litter picking and sweeping
* Leaf clearance
* Flowerbed maintenance and gardening
* Ensuring grounds maintenance equipment, tools and machinery are kept clean and in good working order
* A great team player
* Driving a company van (full, manual licence preferred but not essential)
* Ensure you work in the safest possible way at all times
* Regular reporting to management in terms of work undertaken
* Customer liaison, to be conversant with the needs of the client’s contractual terms and members of the public
