Graduate Cover Supervisors

Job Type : Temporary, Full Time

Salary : £70 – £90/day pension and health care

Graduate Cover Supervisor, Washington:

To keep up with the ongoing demand, Schools Mutual Services are looking to appoint Cover Supervisors to work in our partnered secondary school in Washington (with the potential for work around other areas in the North East).

The Role:

Cover Supervisors are used in secondary schools to provide cover for a class when a teacher is unavailable. They are employed on a flexible and day-to-day basis to ensure that a teacher can have time away from the classroom to carry out other duties (planning, assessment, or training days). They may also cover lessons for teachers who are away from school due to sickness or for other absences.

If you are looking to get into teaching and you wish to build on your current experience of working with young people in a secondary school setting, becoming a Cover Supervisor is a great and ideal opportunity to utilise your communication and behaviour management skills.

Essential Requirements:

You must be educated to Level 4 or above and have experience working with children. Experience such as working as a teaching assistant, sports coaching/ youth work and teaching abroad, adults or tutoring will be considered. But, all qualifications and experience will be considered as well as graduates with experience of working with young people.

You must be able to adapt to different routines daily (you must be able to get to the partnered school for 8.45am any time you are needed) and you should be flexible with work hours 8.30am-3.30pm, Monday to Friday.

Furthermore, it is essential that you hold a current update registered DBS (or be willing to undertake a DBS application) and are able to supply suitable references and hold the right to work within the UK
