As a proud responsible business, they are creating a positive impact through the deployment of capital, underpinned by core sustainability and ESG focus areas and are currently looking for a Forestry Portfolio Associate to join their growing team.

Due to a growing portfolio of assets, you will have the opportunity to work from a perspective of a responsible investment manager, so besides taking full responsibility for portfolio of forestry assets, you will also have line management responsibilities, and manage 3rd party portfolio managers, reporting to the Board. This role is a great step for someone with forestry asset management and line management experience.

Responsibilities include:

Oversee and work with the 3rd Party Asset Manager across the portfolio to manage the forestry assets and develop processes to enable the efficient flow of information from the Forest Managers to enable Portfolio management
Line management responsibilities of other members of the Forestry Portfolio team
Management and delivery of monthly reporting on all assets to highlight key risks and issues across the portfolio. Attendance and contribution at internal fund-based monthly update meetings
Management and delivery of the Portfolio element of the Quarterly board report including review of the Asset Management report
Preparation and presentation of Board report for Estate based assets in the forestry portfolio
Complete site visits of the forestry assets as applicable. Attend site as required as any issues arise across the portfolio. Visiting timber mills located near to the assets will also be required as necessary.
Working with the finance team to ensure invoices are paid in timely manner and that all incomes from Timber sales are collected
Review budgets and work with UK Finance to prepare and monitor Budget vs. Actuals/P&L/Management Accounts
Review ESG potential across all assets in conjunction with wider ESG team.
Lead on and manage portfolio wide initiatives such as Biodiversity base lining
Lead on and manage H&S initiatives across the forestry portfolio
Provide support on Community Stakeholder engagement
Liaise and develop process with Investment team for the handover of newly acquired assets
Liaise with Forest Managers and neighbouring Land Owners and any other stakeholders.

Requirements:

2-3 years in Forestry Portfolio Management experience
Experience working as part of a team and independently
Strong project management skills and analytical experience
Ability to communicate effectively in a clear and concise way
Ability to identify risks and put in place effective mitigations.
Highly organised, and able to manage multiple work streams.
Acute attention to detail with clear written and verbal communication skills.
Clean driving licence.
