We are currently seeking a talented individual to join our BBO team as a Finance Co-ordinator. You will be responsible for ensuring that all expenditure relating to the BBO contract is correct and accurate and that Partners are fully supported throughout.
Our ideal candidate will have working knowledge and experience of checking financial information and ensuring complies with guidelines. It is essential that you have strong attention to detail skills. Experience of running or being involved in the delivery of training sessions and workshops. Be a proactive individual who can identify issues and resolve them quickly through the use of good interpersonal and communication skills. You must be fully IT literate in using a range of Microsoft Office programmes to include 365 products and modern digital technologies, i.e. Microsoft Teams and Skype for Business.
Key Responsibilities
* Assisting the Finance Officer with ensuring that the annexes relating to Pluss expenditure are submitted within deadlines and with correct evidence.
* Collecting and collating evidence from the accounting system to enable the preparation of the Pluss grant claims.
* Assisting the Finance Officer with the preparation of the quarterly Pluss grant claims.
* Reconciling the Pluss grant claims to the accounting system.
* Checking the accuracy of the evidence uploaded to the CMS system.
* Responsible for ensuring that financial information and evidence is received from partners in a timely manner.
* Ensuring information is provided in the correct format and correctly completed.
* Checking expenditure is eligible as per Big Lottery guidance.
* Matching evidence provided to expenditure details and ensuring evidence is complete and accurate.
* Ensuring procurement rules have been followed and evidence of procurement process is obtained where required.
* Reconciling expenditure to evidence within client files as required
* Follow up with partner organisations with queries and requesting outstanding information.
* Assist the Finance Officer with visits to partner organisations to build relationships. Assist with queries and provide support and guidance on preparation of returns
* Assist the Finance Officer with training sessions and workshops with partners and help ensure best practice is disseminated.
* Working with the Finance Officer to ensure the provision of evidence as requested by Big Lottery
* Full understanding of the Big Lottery rules and a point of contact for queries for staff and Partners.
Skills and Experience
Essential
* Working knowledge and experience of checking financial information and ensuring compliance with guidelines
* Experience in the use of ICT systems, particularly Excel
Desirable
* Experience in dealing with internal and external partners with regards to financial issues
* Experience of running or being involved in the delivery of training sessions and workshops.
* Experience of working in a financial department
Additional Information
Salary: £21,658 – £23,172 p.a (dependent on experience)
Location: Flexible location, may require occasional travel to Exeter
Hours: Part time hours also available/37 hrs per week – Monday to Thursday 8.30 am to 5.00 pm and Friday 8.30 am to 4.30 pm.
