Established nearly fifty years with a turnover exceeding £100m per annum this main contractor operate throughout London and the South East region. They undertake a range of projects within the private and public sectors from small works to design and build projects with values reaching £15m plus. They have won a number of prestigious awards throughout the years and continue to experience growth via repeat orders and project success.
Estimator
They are now actively seeking to recruit an Estimator with 1-10 years UK experience within a main contractor to join their team reporting into the Estimating Director.
Duties and responsibilities include:
* Upon receipt of tender documents, review and prepare a report identifying the project details including deliverables required as part of the bid submission
* Pricing preliminaries in conjunction with contract staff as required
* Identifying and preparing a log of project risks
* Dealing with all amendments issued during the tendering period
* Carrying out site visits and preparing a report
* Packaging up enquiries for sending out to the market
* Comparisons of quotations received from the Market and entering into estimating software
* Preparing tender sum analysis/pricing documents/bills of quantities etc
* Taking of dimensions from drawings as required
* Preparing reports for presentations to Tender Settlements
* Assessing re-buy achievable on project with others
* Preparing cost plans for budgets and Stage 1 tenders
* Assist in the preparation of tender submission documents including contractors proposals for design elements
* Attending internal and external tender meetings
* Post tender financial negotiations
* Liaison with design consultants during tender process to obtain design information and ensure the most viable construction processes are adopted
* File tender documents in accordance with standard company procedures.
You will:-
* Have relevant experience within a UK main contractor compiling tenders
* Ideally, RICS/CIOB preferred /HNC level of equivalent – highly desirable but not essential
* IT literate
* Able to estimate from first principles
* Commercial acumen
* Stable work history
